Blueberry BANG Smoothie

This smoothie recipe is my long time fav... I've been making it since I was in high school and every time I make it for a loved one, they rave about it.

At the moment I am loving blending up this smoothie post morning workout. It keeps me satisfied and full of energy until lunchtime.

I highly recommend adding in a scoop of vanilla protein powder if you have some. If you don't, I encourage you to buy some as the added protein will do amazing things for your skin hair and mood. If you don't have any protein powder, you may want to add a little sweetener or some almonds to your blend. I like to add the superfood MACA powder to my smoothies. Maca has a nutty taste with a hint of caramel; some of the benefits include energy, libido and immunity. You can purchase Maca at the health food store or on the internet.

Some of my favourite protein brands are; Bare blends, Prana on, Nutra organics, The Beauty Chef and Sun warrior. Any brand you can find will do as long as they are naturally sweetened and not loaded with fillers.

Tip: I like to add my liquid to my blender first, followed by the powders. Last I put the frozen ingredients on the top. Layering into your blender like this helps process the powders without losing any up the side of the blender jug.
