Associate Degree in Creative Writing
2022-2024
This full-time Creative Writing degree offers a rich and diverse exploration of storytelling across multiple forms and genres. The program includes in-depth study of fiction and non-fiction, experimental writing, journalism, life writing, poetry, as well as writing for stage, screen, and young adult audiences. It is designed to nurture both creative expression and technical craft.
A key element of the course is the development of text analysis skills, often drawn from the world of acting. This involves a deep examination of scripts and written texts to uncover meaning, themes, character dynamics, and the writer’s intent. By analyzing language, imagery, and structure, students learn to interpret narratives with nuance and insight—an essential foundation for producing compelling and resonant work.
