Each session is tailored to the individual’s needs. Self-tape sessions include a reader, studio lighting & filming, editing and uploading.

In this 2 day course, actors will gain a deep understanding of the core principles of the Practical Aesthetics Technique.

In this transformative 2-day intensive, Isabelle Cornish guides actors through the core principles of the Practical Aesthetics technique—developed by David Mamet and William H. Macy.

Qualifications & Experience 

Isabelle is a multi-talented individual born and raised in the countryside of NSW, Australia. Her impressive body of work includes 'Vicky' in Network Ten’s ‘Puberty Blues’, awarded Best Television Drama at the 2nd AACTA Awards. A lead role in the Marvel television series Inhumans (2017) and a supporting role in Nine Perfect Strangers (Hulu, 2021), an American drama in which Isabelle worked alongside cast members such as Nicole Kidman, Melissa McCarthy and Michael Shannon.

Over her career, Isabelle has auditioned for various productions; in Los Angeles, she auditioned with Michael Bay for Transformers and British filmmaker Kenneth Branagh for the Disney film Cinderella. Isabelle auditioned under test options for a range of American Television networks. She was selected to be the reader by Casting Director Rona Kress for the lead casting of Pirates of the Caribbean.

Associate Degree in Creative Writing

2022-2024

This full-time Creative Writing degree offers a rich and diverse exploration of storytelling across multiple forms and genres. The program includes in-depth study of fiction and non-fiction, experimental writing, journalism, life writing, poetry, as well as writing for stage, screen, and young adult audiences. It is designed to nurture both creative expression and technical craft.

 

​A key element of the course is the development of text analysis skills, often drawn from the world of acting. This involves a deep examination of scripts and written texts to uncover meaning, themes, character dynamics, and the writer’s intent. By analyzing language, imagery, and structure, students learn to interpret narratives with nuance and insight—an essential foundation for producing compelling and resonant work.

Atlantic Acting School

(New York City) - 2024

An ambitious summer program at Atlantic Acting in New York City. During the six-week program– six days per week– I developed a working and rigorous understanding of the Atlantic technique 'Practical Aesthetics'. The core teachings of the program are script analysis, moment lab, performance technique, Voice, Speech, Movement, and Improvisation.
